As an alternative, motorbike taxis are really a favorite among visitors because they are often an adventure all in themselves. They are stationed at nearly every corner and the drivers are traditionally more polite and helpful than the Baht-bus drivers so don't forget to tip them.

Lastly, once you have traveled to Pattaya From Bangkok, you may just want to catch a ride in a taxi-meter. These are new to the city and you most expensive option but they are kind of personal taxi service that you are probably used to at home.

Why I Meet Pattaya Girls Online

Why I Meet Pattaya Girls Online

Pattaya is a unique holiday destination and retirement paradise for hundreds of thousands of men from around the world. Most come for the bars and gogos, the beach and of course the beautiful Pattaya girls. There are also a lot of expats and retirees who have chosen to make Pattaya their home.

If you're on a one or two week holiday, then the bars and gogos are probably enough to keep you occupied, but seasoned vets to Pattaya and those that live there may discover that the bars are not always the best place to meet a Pattaya girl that you want to be in a relationship with. Some guys also get a bit tired of the same bars and chat up lines. If you're on of those guys or you would just like to meet a 'good' Thai girl then online dating could be just the right thing.

Pattaya Guideline

I know it may be hard to believe if you spend most of your time in bars, but many Thai women are actually very traditional and they are simply to shy to go to a Western style bar or club on Walking Street. I've talked to many Pattaya girls working in restaurants, hotels, tourism and offices who always complain that they can't meet a western gentlemen because most seem to gravitate towards the beer bars. These are attractive, smart girls, who would be happy to date a foreigner but they are not going to be out partying with the rest of us.

I've introduced many of these girls to online dating and helped them set up profiles. Many of these women feel much bolder online than they do in real life. On the streets, she wouldn't dream about doing anything more than sending a shy smile to a man she likes - and most foreigners don't even see it! - but online she has no problems making the first contact. The result is, as I've witnessed, many happy relationships and a few marriages to boot.

You Can Buy a Condo in Pattaya in Your Own Name

You Can Buy a Condo in Pattaya in Your Own Name

Hi, I am the live chat moderator for a real estate company in Pattaya, Thailand so I get a lot of enquiries, questions online about Pattaya property, businesses and land. One of the most popular questions is can I own a condominium in Pattaya in my own name? Surprising how there is a lack of information on this subject in these visitors home countries, unless they are familiar with the internet and know how to search for that information, believe it or not, not everyone is an internet surfer.

My answer to the visitor on the live chat is yes you can own a condo in your own name under these conditions, in all condo buildings in Thailand 51% of the units must be owned by Thai Nationals that is the law in Thailand, the remaining 49% can be owned by a foreigner, example 100 units in a building so 51 have to be Thai owned the foreigners can buy the remaining 49. This leads on to a very important point, usually in Pattaya the allocated 51% Thai owned units are never all sold as it is mostly foreigners who buy condos.

Pattaya Guideline

What happens now is, especially with new projects, if you buy a condo in a Thai name say your Thai wife or partner you buy at a reduced price as the developer or owner does not want the condo empty, unsold. Now there is your decision do I buy in my name or my Thai partners name and save maybe 20% of the purchase price?

There are many new off plan developments in Pattaya and Jomtien being constructed now, some in the 3rd or 4th phase as previous units all sold out. These are not just condominium buildings with a swimming pool these are modern European designed resorts with all facilities. Most of these projects offer low deposit and Interest free over 2 to 5 years.

That is another subject to be covered in another article soon. Look forward to any comments, suggestions or questions. Thank you.

The Pattaya Bible

The Pattaya Bible

Often described as the "Pattaya Bible" Neil Hutchinson's "Money Number One" is the flagship of his collection of very humorous stories and insights into life and the interrelationships between the average male visitor and the bar ladies of Thailand.

The books in the series including "A Fool In Paradise" "The Fool is Back" and "A Fools Diary" are a collage of short stories about the sometimes hilarious, sometimes tragic antics of what many of the male visitors to Thailand have experienced in their dealings with these lovely creatures, and are a MUST READ for all who wish to cast fate to the wind to enjoy the pleasures offered by these delectable ladies.

Pattaya Guideline

In reading the books I realized that while the books are truly a great introduction to life in "SIN CITY" they also teach something of the culture of this beautiful country and it's equally beautiful people.

Thailand is steeped in Buddhism which becomes obvious to the first time visitor on arrival by the number of Monks seen daily almost everywhere in the streets and the amount of "Wats" (Monasteries) sprinkled through out the country.

Like all countries which have a dominant religion, many of the Thais are willing to "bend the rules" somewhat in order to be able to survive in a country which has no dole queues or free handouts from the government as many of the Western societies have.

They are also extremely family orientated. Most of the bar ladies are supporting at least one child and quite often a Thai husband.

It's the Thai girl's duty to support her parents financially and who, quite often will be raising the lady's child or children in a village somewhere in the North or South of the country.

While the North West is dominated by Chiang Mai, the North East also boasts several big cities including Udon Thani and Kon Kaen which has one the largest universities in the country.

Chiang Mai is the cultural centre where much of the "arts and crafts" seen being sold in the many markets found in every major city are manufactured and is also the area in which much of the countries fruit and vegetables are grown

The North West is often called Issarn and the predominant language spoken is actually a version of Lao. It becomes confusing to the traveler who has taken the time to learn a few words of Thai, when his new found love meets a friend or family member and starts to speak a totally different language.

However ninety percent of the girls in Pattaya can speak sufficient English for the tourist to be able to enjoy a very pleasant interlude with them and indeed many tourists find themselves married to a Thai lady and raising a family.

In the "Money Number One"series Neil also offers the reader an insight into some of the customs practiced by these people who we of the west tend to find very strange indeed and are often in complete contrast to our Christian upbringing and can sometimes be seen as even repugnant to some.

Neil Hutchinson has written the books from his own experiences and those of others who have visited Pattaya, however the same principals apply to all the areas of Thailand which supports beer bars ,go-go bars etc and even some that don't.

The "Money Number One" series can now be purchased online in PDF format for instant download.

Budget Hotels in Pattaya - Tips on Finding the Best Hotel Deals For Travel to Pattaya

Budget Hotels in Pattaya - Tips on Finding the Best Hotel Deals For Travel to Pattaya

The seaside resort of Pattaya is just a short 2 hour ride away from the big city of Bangkok. And it's true that the further away you are from Bangkok the cheaper your living expenses will be. This is especially true about budget hotels in Pattaya. But it does take a little bit of time and footwork to find a place that fits your budget with a room that has a clean bed and hot shower.

It is best to visit Pattaya during the low season which is from late March through early November. Room rates during the low season are reduced from 20% to 40%. Which is a real good value. However, the temperature can be unbearably hot and the rainfall torrential though short during that time. Also keep in mind most hotels in the area with ridiculously low prices do not have air conditioning. That's the trade off for traveling in Thailand on the cheap. In most cases spending an extra 100 baht will get you a room with air conditioning. Which is well worth the extra cost, even if it means you will have to skip a meal or two.

Pattaya Travelling

There are many popular budget hotels and guesthouses located throughout Pattaya. But the problem is that most of the best budget hotels in Pattaya does not have an Internet reservation process. Most do business on a first come first serve basis. Since these hotels are so popular if you show up out of the blue during the low season you may not even get a room.

The solution is to look for a hotel that you can afford first. One that you can reserve on the Internet. There are many hotel reservation agencies online that can help you with that. But make sure those agencies are based in Thailand so you know you are getting the best rates. Better yet look for a company that provides a best price guarantee. Book the rooms for a few days only. Because you don't want to reserve a room for too long of a time and get stuck throughout the remainder of your vacation time in Pattaya if the room turns out to be in horrible condition.

So once you arrive in Pattaya you will not have to worry about finding a place to sleep for the night. Then you can set out in the morning to find a cheaper hotel or guesthouse that fits your budget accordingly. Best thing of all is you can see how the room looks physically before you hand over your hard earned money. Since you are there you can also haggle with the hotel to see if they can offer you a special room rate or deal.
